Careforce Carers recognised by CDNA
Senior Carers at Careforce have been welcomed into the Community and District Nursing Association by its Chief Executive, Anne Duffy.
Anne said, “The philosophy at the CDNA is to care for those who care and I am delighted to welcome the care staff at Careforce who have joined us. The CDNA is yet again leading the way and over the coming years will be providing support and training to Careforce staff, working with them to ensure the very best care for people in need of care at home.”
The membership arrangement, which was set up through an initiative from Bob Holt and Mike Rogers, gives qualifying carers access to further training and professional and personal support through CDNA. One carer who has been granted membership is the 2007 Carer of the Year, Jayne Cornell.
Jayne said she was delighted to be one of the first of our carers to join CDNA. “I think this is a really good idea and a positive step in making care recognised as a profession and a career choice which will help with recruitment. I was really impressed by my welcome pack and all the help and support on offer from CDNA, not just the training but also the helplines for advice on personal finance and the range of discounts on offer. The magazine is very interesting and easy to read and we are invited to send comments and contributions. I look forward to finding out more about regional training and events and I hope membership will be extended to more carers in due course.”
The CDNA represents thousands of nurses and carers across the UK, all of who work in the community and the association looks forward to working with the carers at Careforce.
