Our Community & Environment goals for 2010 are:
• To improve the lives of people living within our communities
• To help build community cohesion and integration
• To provide career and skills development opportunities to those needing them the most
• To be a positive contributor to the environment.
We ask our branches to
encourage all staff to support and participate in their branch community projects and
to work in partnership with our clients, our service users and others in the local community.
We also:
provide education and information on issues that affect the communities within which we work
co-operate with and support third parties (such as charities) who are active in the sectors in which we work
ensure through our recruitment policies and procedures that we provide career opportunities and training for local people without prejudice against age, sex, race or religion, while ensuring we meet our cultural and social obligations to our service users
actively seek ways to make a positive contribution to the environment utilising best practice within branches to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce waste.
